Easter is just around the corner, and the first holidaymakers are already setting out this weekend to travel to their Easter holiday destinations. Austrian Airlines recommends arriving early at the airport in order to avoid stress at check-in and the security checks. Whoever takes the City Airport Train (CAT) can already drop off their baggage at the Vienna Central Train Station for Austrian Airlines flights. The airline also advises all passengers to make use of the online services which are offered in order to save valuable time at the airport. For example, thanks to web check-in, passengers can already conveniently select seats from their own home starting 47 hours before departure.
Furthermore, at the beginning of the holidays, 24 Austrian Airlines self-service baggage drop-off machines are in operation at Vienna Airport in order to reduce waiting times at the baggage handling counters. Passengers get the required baggage labels at the check-in machines. Austrian Airlines is prepared for the surge in travelers in terms of staff deployment and has increased the number of employees working at the airport during this time. In order to accelerate security checks and the boarding of aircraft, it is important to adhere to regulations pertaining to carry-on luggage.
At Easter time there will also be a small surprise awaiting Austrian Airlines passengers. On Easter Sunday, passengers will receive chocolate Easter bunnies on board short-haul and medium-haul flights from and to Vienna and on long-haul flights from Vienna. We will surprise our younger guests on Easter Saturday with a small rabbit pencil case as long as supplies last. On Easter Monday, passengers will have the opportunity to look for Easter eggs in the gate area of several Austrian Airlines flights at Vienna Airport. Those travelers who find one of the colored Easter eggs can go to one of our employees and exchange it for a small prize.
