Austrian Airlines lands in the center of Vienna

Company

• Airline opens Pop Up Store in Taborstraße
• From the rubber duck, over “Servus” face masks up to the airplane model

From now on, the popular airline articles can also be purchased in Vienna city center. After the successful relaunch of the online jet store https://jetshop.austrian.com/en in autumn 2019, the Austrian flag carrier is now selling its red-white-red branded goods in cooperation with “strictly HERRMANN” at Taborstraße 5, 1020 Vienna. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-18:00 and Sat 10:00-16:00.

“Since Vienna International Airport unfortunately lacks passengers due to corona, we decided at short notice to land in downtown Vienna”, explains Amir Aghamiri, “Brand Manager” at Austrian Airlines. “We want to keep the Pop Up Store open at least until the Christmas business”, Aghamiri continues.

While online demand is more likely to be for the Puma sneakers (€54.95) and model aircraft (from €31.95), the face masks (€14.90) and the Badeente (price: €6.95) are becoming bestsellers in the city center.

The airline actually owes the development of the well-known rubber duck to its frequent flyers. The so-called “HONs” (HON Circle Members, from 600,000 flight miles) collected rubber ducks on their worldwide travels and deposited them in a row at their own HON access point at Vienna Airport. At some point they wanted an AUA duck.
