- Premium Economy Class now with 40 seats per aircraft
- Flag carrier enlarges B777 fleet by a total of 144 seats
- CCO Michael Trestl: “By modifying our long-haul fleet, we are meeting the growing demand for more travel comfort. We look forward to welcome even more guests in our Premium Economy Class”
Since its introduction in 2018, Austrian Airlines’ Premium Economy Class has become a product
highlight which enjoys increasing popularity among both leisure and business travelers. To meet
the growing demand, the booking category will be further enlarged on the flag carrier’s largest
aircraft type, the Boeing B777. Austrian Airlines will expand its Premium Economy Class on all six
B777 aircraft from the current 24 seats to 40 seats per aircraft. In addition to the comfort seat made exclusively for the Lufthansa Group, Premium Economy passengers benefit from checking in two pieces of luggage, each weighing up to 23 kilograms, free of charge and enjoy an on board multicourse menu created by Do&Co.
“By modifying our long-haul fleet, we are meeting the growing demand for more travel comfort. We look forward to welcome even more guests in our Premium Economy Class,” says Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl. In addition to the enlarged Premium Economy Class, the seat capacity of Austrian Airlines’ B777 fleet will be increased by 14 Economy Class seats per aircraft. This will add 144 seats to the total capacity of Austrian Airlines’ long-haul fleet.
The modification of the Boeing aircraft will start in early 2023. By May 2023, all Austrian Airlines
B777s will take off with the new seating configuration.
The additional seats in Premium Economy Class can be booked as of now via austrian.com.
