Following the successful addition of seven destinations in the summer flight schedule, Austrian Airlines is expanding its touristic program in the winter flight schedule. In addition to the new destinations of Sevilla and Rovaniemi, the Finnish town of Kittilä will also be available in the charter program. With the new destinations, Austrian Airlines offers a total of 86 destinations in winter, including 70 continental and 16 intercontinental destinations. CCO Michael Trestl emphasizes the positive developments of the past year, which enable the airline to offer a broader destination portfolio to its guests. “With the expansion of our market, we successfully position ourselves as the number one airline in Austria and at the Vienna hub,” says Michael Trestl.
There is particularly good news for Christmas enthusiasts: In December 2023, Austrian Airlines will fly to Rovaniemi in Finland for the first time, the official home of Santa Claus. The winter season is also ideal for experiencing the regional spectacle of the Northern Lights, which can be best admired between late August and early April. For winter sports enthusiasts, the additional Finnish destination Kittilä in the charter program offers proximity to Finland’s largest winter sports resort, “Levi.”
As a contrast to the far north, Austrian Airlines will already start flying to the Andalusian city of Sevilla in the autumn. Just in time for the autumn holidays, starting from October 14th, Austrian Airlines guests can experience the capital of Flamenco directly from Vienna.
The new destinations from the summer flight schedule 2023, such as Porto, Marseille, and Vilnius, will also continue in the winter flight schedule. “With the expansion of our winter schedule, we want to give our customers the opportunity to discover new places and collect unforgettable travel experiences. We are proud to continuously expand our network and offer our passengers first-class connections to the whole world,” says Michael Trestl.
