The Boeing 787-9 now bears the name “Schönbrunn Palace” on its fuselage and thus flies the Austrian attraction out into the world. With over three million visitors a year, Schönbrunn Palace is Austria’s most visited attraction. Schönbrunn Palace and numerous other Viennese sights are an important reason for many tourists to travel to Vienna. The Schönbrunn Group and Austrian Airlines can already look back on a long-standing partnership on various projects and are now setting another milestone in their collaboration with the naming of the OE-LPM.

Michael Trestl, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, is enthusiastic about the cooperation: “With the Schönbrunn Group, we have a partner that fits perfectly with our brand and our positioning as Austria’s national carrier. It is a great start to our new naming concept. We are delighted to carry a piece of Austrian history into the world with the OE-LPM ‘Schönbrunn Palace’.”

Klaus Panholzer, CEO/Managing Director of the Schönbrunn Group, is also very pleased about the meaningful cooperation: “The Schönbrunn Group is delighted about the cooperation with Austrian Airlines. The branding of the Austrian Airlines Dreamliner is another milestone in our corporate identity. We wish all passengers and crew members a ‘safe flight and happy landings’ with the Schönbrunn Palace!”

“Highlights of Vienna” to fly around the world with the new Dreamliners

After the OE-LPM, the future Boeing 787-9s will also be named after local sights in order to emphasize Austrian Airlines’ close connection with Austrian tourism and the charm of Vienna’s attractions. Austrian Airlines flies to more than 125 destinations worldwide, bringing tourists from all over the world closer to Austria’s charm and tourist treasures.

Michael Trestl, CCO Austrian Airlines, summarizes: “There are many world-famous sights in Vienna that are ideal for flying around the world together with our brand and further strengthening our Austrian identity. With the Schönbrunn Group, we could not imagine a better partner to launch the ‘Highlights of Vienna’ naming concept. We look forward to many more exciting cooperation partners who want to take off with us and bring the Austrian flair to the world.”
