- Austrian Airlines further expands its 2025 summer flight schedule
- Direct flights and charter connections to 127 destinations boost desire to travel and booking mood
- Popular destinations in the south are complemented by exciting destinations in the north, long-haul flights continue to be popular
Good news for all those who have wanderlust at the start of the year, who are already in the mood to travel or who are currently fighting the winter blues: Austrian Airlines has further expanded its 2025 summer flight schedule, which will be valid from the end of March.
Expressed in figures: there are currently 105 destinations with up to 1,374 flights per week available on short and medium-haul routes, and up to 108 flights per week to 18 different destinations on long-haul routes. In addition, there are a further four destinations that are served up to five times a week as full charters for various tour operators.
Mediterranean region as summer focus
The red-white-red planes of Austrian Airlines will be landing in Greece, Italy and Spain particularly often in summer 2025 – and will therefore meet the tastes of Austrian holidaymakers exactly. There are a total of 20 different destinations in Greece to choose from – from the major hubs of Athens and Thessaloniki to small islands such as Lefkada or Lemnos.
Those who are more in the mood for ‘la dolce vita’ will find twelve Italian destinations spread across the entire ‘boot’ or on Sicily or Sardinia in the Austrian Airlines summer flight schedule. A hearty ‘Hola, bienvenido!’ for guests of Austrian Airlines can be heard at the ten destinations on the Spanish mainland, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands with Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca.
These summer classics are complemented by the two Portuguese destinations Porto and Madeira, four destinations in Croatia (Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Zagreb) and somewhat off the beaten track, but all the more interesting: two destinations in Montenegro (Podgorica and Tivat). In addition, the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will be served several times a week with the new destination of Burgas as well as Varna.
Full charter flights in red-white-red also take off to Hurghada (Egypt), to Calvi (Corsica), Skyros (Greece) and Monastir (Tunisia) and can be booked with the various tour operators or travel agencies.
Cool and new – direct to the north with Austrian Airlines
The completely new, ‘cool’ destinations Edinburgh, Sylt and the Lofoten Islands have already been announced in the 2025 summer timetable – and are already in high demand. The range of destinations ‘in the north’ will also be significantly expanded – from Vienna, fans of cooler temperatures can now choose from two Swedish destinations (Stockholm, Gothenburg), three Norwegian destinations (Oslo, Lofoten, Tromsø), as well as Copenhagen in Denmark, Reykjavik in Iceland and London, Manchester and Edinburgh in Scotland in the UK.
All those who want to travel further afield in summer can choose from 18 existing long-haul destinations to which Austrian Airlines flies directly: In Africa there is a choice of Cairo throughout, Mauritius and Marrakesh seasonally, in Asia Bangkok, Tokyo, Shanghai and Malé seasonally, in North America Boston, New York (Newark and JFK), Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles and Montreal in Canada throughout.
