More flexibility for flight bookings: Free rebooking of all Austrian Airlines tickets

Company

• Ticket fare structure is changed: All fares for flights worldwide can be changed without rebooking fees
• Return travel guarantee on European routes extended until end of September

Short-term entry restrictions and travel warnings continue to affect international air travel. For this reason, Austrian Airlines is changing its ticket fare structure until the end of December, offering passengers even more flexibility in their travel planning: With immediate effect, all tickets can be rebooked several times free of charge, regardless of the fare booked. Already in spring, passengers were given the opportunity to rebook once free of rebooking fees, due to the Corona Pandemic. This regulation has now been extended. It applies to new bookings worldwide on short, medium and long-haul flights. If the original booking class is no longer available, for example due to a change in date or destination, additional costs may apply.

In order to give passengers additional security when booking flights, the return flight guarantee on European routes is also being extended. In the event of a travel warning or a significant deterioration in the corona situation, passengers will be flown back to Austria, Germany or Switzerland – if necessary by special flight. This applies to Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS. Depending on the fare, additional services are included in cooperation with AXA Partners. The “all-inclusive carefree package” (included in Economy Classic, Business Saver, Economy Flex and Business Flex fares) covers, among other things, the costs of quarantine, trip interruption, telephone consultation before and during the trip or medical repatriation. With the “Bring me Home NOW” guarantee (included in Flex fares), customers are carried on the next bookable Lufthansa Group flight if desired. The return flight promise applies to all regular flights with a return travel date up to the end of January 2021, which are booked by the end of September 2020. The fares are not increased in price, but are extended to include the above-mentioned services free of charge for the customer. All details about the return flight promise are available at https://www.austrian.com/at/en/bring-me-home.

On the Austrian Airlines website, passengers can find the current Austrian Airlines timetable as well as information on travel in times of corona, compulsory masks or rebooking regulations. The information is updated on an ongoing basis. In addition, passengers can find the current entry regulations for their respective destination.
