• February 2019: 8.0 percent increase in passenger volume year-on-year
• January and February 2019: approx. 1.6 million passengers, up 7.5 percent
• Capacity utilization stable at 70.9 percent since the beginning of the year
More than 800,000 passengers flew with Austrian Airlines in February 2019, comprising an increase of 8.0 percent from the prior-year month. European flight traffic continued to be strong, showing a 6.8 percent rise in passenger volume. The flight offering measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) was up 11.6 percent, and revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) climbed 10.0 percent. Capacity utilization (passenger load factor) of the flights equaled 71.6 percent on average in February 2019, a drop of 1.1 percentage points compared to the previous year. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was increased by 5.2 percent to a total of 8,740.
“Customer demand continues to develop very gratifyingly. City trips in Europe are particularly sought after at the moment”, says Andreas Otto, Member of the Management Board and CCO of Austrian Airlines.
Austrian Airlines transported about 1.6 million passengers in the months of January and February 2019, comprising a rise of 7.5 percent from the previous year. The flight offering measured in available seat kilometers was up 9.8 percent, and revenue passenger kilometers climbed 9.4 percent compared to the first two months of 2018. Capacity utilization of the flights remained stable at 70.9 percent, a slight decline of 0.3 percentage points. The number of flights operated by Austrian Airlines was up 4.8 percent to 17,828 in the months of January and February 2019.
