This year, Austrian Airlines will be taking part in the Pride Parade on Vienna’s Ringstrasse for the first time on 8 June, 2024 and will have its own Pride truck at the start.
“We support the efforts of the Pride movement both during Pride Month in June and on every other day of the year. Our employees are as colorful and diverse as the rainbow”, says Annette Mann, CEO of Austrian Airlines, proud of the Austrian team. “Our more than 6,000 employees come from around 70 nations, from different cultures, religions and generations, with different genders and sexual orientations. Any form of discrimination has no place at Austrian”, continues Mann.
By taking part in the Vienna Rainbow Parade, Austrian Airlines is sending a highly visible signal for visibility, acceptance and equal rights regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender characteristics.
Wonderfully colorful Austrian Pride Truck
The Austrian truck will start with the starting number 55. Adapted to the brand identity of Austrian Airlines, the truck is adorned with the slogan “Pride is … WONDERFUL.COLORFUL”. The truck features the progressive Pride flag and an oversized engine in rainbow colors. It offers space for around 50 people. The tickets were raffled off among interested Austrian employees.
During the parade, guests can expect a colorful program on board. The well-known Austrian drag queen and DJ Tamara Mascara heats up the Pride participants musically. Glitter Fairies provide the necessary dose of glamour on the truck. The Austrian Pride Truck was creatively realized together with the Stargate Group.
“As an airline, we connect people, cultures and economies every day. Our guests come from the most diverse cultural backgrounds from over 120 destinations worldwide. With us, they can broaden their horizons and see their loved ones all over the world. We are hosts for all people and strictly reject any form of discrimination or unequal treatment,” says Michael Trestl, CCO of Austrian Airlines. “With our participation in the Vienna Pride Parade, we are sending a strong, visible signal of our attitude towards both our employees and our guests on board.”
