CEO Annette Mann
Annette Mann was born on December 31, 1977 in Bavaria, Germany. She studied business administration in Ingolstadt and obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the US-American Kellogg School of Management.
Annette Mann brings in a wide spectrum of experience in management, which she has gained in many different strategic, conceptual or operative roles within the Lufthansa Group since 2003. During her supervision 2004-2009, she conceived and implemented Lufthansa’s current First-Class product and by 2015, the launch of the “Premium Economy” on more than 100 long-haul flights was completed. Until 2020, Annette Mann was responsible for various product related divisions within the Lufthansa Group, also as Vice President of Product Management at SWISS. Most recently, she was responsible for the Corporate Responsibility division and was assigned to develop, operate and implement an integrated and group-wide sustainability program.
Currently she is part of the Swiss Aviation Foundation for Lufthansa, is on the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa CityLine and acts as chairperson of the advisory board of Help Alliance GmbH.
Since March 1, 2022, Annette Mann is managing director of Austrian Airlines. Annette Mann completes the three-person Austrian Airlines executive board. Her responsibilities as CEO include the divisions Corporate Communication, Public Affairs & Corporate Responsibility, Human Resources, Business Development, Accounting & Treasury, Controlling, Procurement & Infrastructure and Legal Affairs.
CCO Michael Trestl
Michael Trestl was born on September 18, 1985 in Vienna.
After graduating with a diploma in business management and a master’s degree in tourism management he earned a doctorate in economics from the University of Salzburg and the University of Latvia in Riga. In 2011, he began his career within Lufthansa Group in the corporate development department at Edelweiss Air AG in Zurich, which he headed from 2014 to 2017. During his time there, he conceptualized and shaped the growth strategy of the Swiss holiday carrier. Trestl then moved to Swiss International Air Lines and took over as Head of Strategy and CEO Office. From 2018 to 2020, Michael Trestl was responsible for the Swiss flag carrier’s network planning as Head of Network Management. With the onset of the corona pandemic, he additionally took over the management of the program “RESTART Commercial,” in which the Lufthansa Group’s commercial strategy for the period during and after the pandemic is being developed.
Since January 1, 2021, Michael Trestl has been a member of the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In his function, he is responsible for the corporate areas Network Management & Revenue Steering, Sales, IT and Austrian Brand Experience.
COO Francesco Sciortino
Francesco Sciortino was born on September 23, 1973 in Waldshut-Tiengen. He is married and has one child.
He concluded his pilot training in the Lufthansa pilot school. He started his aviation career in 1997 as A320 co-pilot for Austrian Airlines. Parallel to his work as a pilot, he began as an expert fleet advisor for Lufthansa before assuming responsibility for baggage processes of the German airline and heading the newly founded Irregularity Management. Francesco Sciortino gained experience as Head of Ground Operations at Lufthansa Italia in the period 2010 to 2011 before being appointed Project Manager for the integration of Airbus A330 aircraft at SunExpress Germany in 2015 and later Accountable Manager. He joined the Executive Board of Germanwings in 2017 as Managing Director and Accountable Manager. Mr. Sciortino has a trainer license as an Airbus A320/A330 captain.
As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Francesco Sciortino has been part of the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines since April 1, 2021. His responsibilities include Crew Training, Flight Operations, Cabin Operations, Ground Operations, Ops Planning & Steering, Technical Operations, Safety, Security & Compliance Monitoring Operations and Operations Projects & Development.
