Compliance

As part of the Lufthansa Group, Austrian Airlines AG and its subsidiaries (hereinafter referred to as the Austrian Airlines Group) attach great importance to integrity and thus also to law-abiding conduct. Every employee is called upon to act responsibly and to live up to this principle at all times.

The Compliance Management System (CMS) of the Lufthansa Group, which has been fully implemented for the Austrian Airlines Group, is designed to protect employees and the company from violations of the law and, at the same time, to support them in acting in accordance with the law. The compliance organization is headed by the Central Compliance Committee (ZCA) as the central management body. In organizational terms, the CMS is implemented and monitored by the Compliance Officer appointed by the Board of Management or the Compliance Officer responsible for the Austrian Airlines Group in the form of guidelines or process descriptions, and is regularly developed and adapted. It consists of the components of competition, capital market, integrity and embargo compliance. Regular training (e-learning and classroom training) and a wide range of communication campaigns ensure the regular involvement of those responsible and strengthen the compliance culture in the Austrian Airlines Group.

As an important pillar of corporate governance at the Austrian Airlines Group, the Lufthansa Group Code of Conduct summarizes the principles and guidelines that must be observed by Group employees and also serves as a guide for business partners.

In addition, an ombudsman system provides the opportunity at any time to report suspicions of economic crime or violations of compliance regulations.
