Social Responsibility

Austrian Airlines currently has around 6,000 employees. Together with our social partners, we actively address the concerns and needs of our workforce. Talented teams are a key to success.

Personal Development

Our employees’ talents, competencies and know-how are the foundation for our success and allow us to provide first class service. To better harness our employees’ talents, we promote a corporate culture based on partnership and characterized by fair pay, transparency, tolerance, and respect in dealing with each other. Not only do we insist on fair treatment for our employees, but we also ensure access to a range of skills development workshops and networking initiatives.

Social Sponsoring

As a member of Lufthansa Group, we support the Group’s charitable organization “Help Alliance”, which focuses on education and child development. All projects under its auspices are designed in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in mind.

All projects are funded via voluntary contributions. One of the main Austrian Airlines´ projects implemented to date involved the establishment of an elementary school in Cape Town and generated an investment of more than a million euros.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

For Austrian Airlines, respect for human rights is a matter of course and an integral part of the corporate culture. The Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the past reporting year, prepared in accordance with Art. 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, can be downloaded as a pdf.
